Heavy Metal Star Treated for Cancer

IRON MAIDEN FRANKFURT 12th June 2013 by JOHN McMURTRIE

Bruce Dickinson, lead singer of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden was recently treated for cancer, having endured several chemotherapy treatments for a growth found on his tongue in a routine check-up.

Iron Maiden first appeared in the 1980’s, elbowing their way through the throngs of “hair-bands” that littered the musical landscape of the time. The British act made a name for themselves with such songs as “Number of the Beast” and “Run to the Hills”.

Bruce and the band are optimistic and hope to hit the road and full-fill summer tour dates, but are asking fans to be “patient” as Mr. Dickinson works his way towards a full recovery.
