ASTRONOMICAL TRIPLE-PLAY!

solar-eclipse

Whether you are a Neil deGrasse Tyson Cosmos-loveing science geek or a patchouli-burning, Enya listening, horoscope reading hippie-You’ve got a big weekend ahead of you!

This weekend started with an eclipse seen through-out Europe and the Middle-East. A phenomenal awe-inspiring sight occurred this morning as the moon appeared to swallow the sun, encompassing the earth below in a brief but sincere cloak of darkness.

This solar eclipse is accompanied by a super-moon followed by the first day of spring, the equinox. A super-moon is when a full moon, or in this case a new moon is at its closest proximity to the earth.  The equinox represents a day of equal light to night.

Astrologists have deemed this period a time of positive change and introspective meditation.
