Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose upcoming visit to the U.S. Congress has been described as “destructive” by the White House, was found to have mislead the public about Iranian nuclear capabilities according to a report from his own nation’s secret police.
Bibi, who is under investigation for having an exorbitant spending habit, having wasted up to $24,000 on Chinese take-out; is hoping to gain some political clout while visiting the United States.
President Obama has other ideas on Bibi’s visit, following a policy of not meeting with world leaders in the time of their respective nations elections; as is the case with Netanyahu’s Israel.
To further compound the woes of the Mid-Eastern leader is the allegations Bibi lied to the United Nations about Iran’s nukes. The release of the report by Israel’s Mossad right before and election could be an indicator of the waning popularity of the PM and his Likud party.
Netanyahu is expected to meet with the U.S. Congress on March 3, 2015 , exactly two weeks before Israeli elections.
