CLOUD ON MARS INTRIGUES SCIENTISTS

Clouds are nothing new to the red-planet but this latest phenomenon has perked the curiosity of some astronomers.

The cloud formation, which has been noted before by scientists back in 2012, appears to be too high in the atmosphere for a normal cloud.

Optimists are hoping that the cloud is either a formation of rain or perhaps carbon dioxide, both of which could be indicators of the possibility of life on the planet.

Some have purposed that it may be some sort of aurora others have described it as a “blob” or a “haze”.

Scientists remain divided as to what the cloud is and await further data on the anomaly.
