A video surfaced showing Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputy stomping on a man’s face and hitting him with a flashlight after shooting him with a taser. The officer is now on a paid leave. Must be nice to get a vacation after beating someone up.
A Sheriff Jaime Lewis said they are investigating what took place as a result of the video.
“There are portions of that video that clearly have caused me concern,” Lewis said. “And that is exactly what has caused the department to initiate an investigation, so we can get to the bottom of it.”
The man who is being beaten in the video is 51-year-old John Madison Reyes, who said the incident started when he politely asked the deputy, who was blocking the road with his car, to move.
“I asked him kindly to move the car,” Reyes said. “He glared at me and stared at me. And then, I said an expletive, ‘You need to move the car because I can’t get through.’”
The Sacramento county Sheriff’s deputy proceeded to arrest Reyes, for no obvious reason, as the only charge he was given after he was tasered, stomped, and beaten, and booked into jail, was resisting arrest.
Although the video clearly shows excessive force; the fact remains….. DON’T RESIST, or you could end up severely hurt, or event DEAD! Disrespect the POLICE, and this is what happens.
