As our eyes in the sky scan the universe with the Hubble Telescope, NASA and theoretical physicist & cosmologist Stephen Hawking offer their thoughts on humanity’s future.
NASA scientists believe that life could exist on one of the many thousand of possible planets in the galaxy, outside of our own intimate solar system.
Hawking, who in the past as alluded to encounters with a superior extra-terrestrial culture could be disastrous for mankind, now forewarns that without space-colonization as an insurance conflict on the planet could end life as we know it.
“The human failing I would most like to correct is aggression…” Hawking said to those in attendance at the London Science Museum. “It may have had survival advantage in caveman days, to get more food, territory or a partner with whom to reproduce, but now it threatens to destroy us all.”
