Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in the he U.S. to sway Congress on the Iran situation.
Iran, Israel’s bogeyman is seeking the right to create nuclear reactors as other nations in the vicinity of the sovereign state have done.
Netanyahu has already been proven to be wrong in regards to Iran’s capabilities by his own country’s secret police, the Mossad.
Bibi’s visit to the U.S. has been described as “destructive” & “divisive” by critics. Protests broke out at the American Israeli Public Affairs conference with protesters donning masks of the Prime Minister; their hands painted red with symbolic blood.
Members of the women’s war-protest group “Code Pink” chanted “Shame! Shame! Shame!” as they were dragged out of the conference by police.
The American Israeli group is one of the biggest lobbyist in the U.S. with a $26 million dollar budget, making it one of the greatest influences on United States policy.
Bibi is not without his own, home-grown critics. General Amnon Reshef, the former head of Israel’s armored corps and the founder of Commanders for Israel’s Security, said of the Prime Minister at a press conference in Tel Aviv on Sunday morning:
“When the Israeli prime minister argues that his speech will stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, he is not only misleading Israel – he is actually strengthening Iran.”
