Since the Ukrainian peace treaty Russian separatist have intensified their attacks. According to Ukraine’s foreign minister Pavlo Klimkin, over 100 attacks have been waged by separatist forces, with one attack killing 5 Ukrainian security force members.
Separatist positions held by Cossacks have also come under-fire according to the international press. The Cossacks have a historic tradition of being Russia’s shock-troops.
European powers continue to punish Russia with sanctions as well as travel-bans for Russian officials.
