Celebrities come and go and many have left an indelible mark on the collective psyche and souls of both Americans and others throughout the world.
Music & Movie stars like Elvis and Marilyn Monroe have a cult-like following today that would rival the worship of the prophets of the past.
Celebrity worship is not just regulated to Hollywood-type personaes but also includes polarizing political figures like Che Guevara and Guy Fawkes of Anonymous.
But what about an icon of good & wholesomeness? Is there such face? Who is the man who still walks the airwaves of PBS preaching his message of peace & acceptance?
Fred Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers. Yes the one from the Neighborhood.
Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood ran from 1968-2001 hosted by its creator, the affable Mr. Rodgers.
Rodgers, a former puppeteer, helped create a show where children could have a TV- land “safe-space” to escape to with the fatherly soft spoken Rodgers and his cast of hand-puppets.
Mr. Rodgers died back in 2003 but lives on in re-runs on PBS.
In honor of Mr. Rodgers birthday today March 20 we give you a digital Rodgers Remix.
