The University of South Carolina was locked down Thursday afternoon following reports of a campus shooting. Officials at the Columbia campus warned students to get to safety and obey any further directions via a campus alert sent around 1:20pm. The shooting reportedly occurred near the college´s Arnold School of Public Health. A perimeter was set up around the public health building, were police carrying AR-15s and wearing SWAT gear ushered students out and across the street. It remained an active shooter situation some 30 minutes after the alert was posted. An alert was also issued to employees at the South Carolina Statehouse in Columbia, where |
