In 2011, there was a limited release of the Back To The Future shoes with LED lighting of the NIKE logo, but didn’t have the power lacing capability. The shoes raised an astonishing $6 million for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
Finally Nike has officially confirmed that they are making a version of the shoes with Power Laces. Nike innovation chief Tinkler Hatfield announced the production of the shoes, but didn’t state when, or what the price would be. He was also the designer of the shoes used in the Back To The Future films.
