The United States Government has made plans to yet again arm Syrian rebels, seemingly learning nothing from lessons learned from past proxy wars.
The U.S. is arming what they describe as “moderate” rebels with mortars and machine-gun mounted Toyota pick-ups. In 2013 these so-called moderate rebels were armed to fight against the Assad regime, now the rebels are being openly armed to fight against ISIS, although it is unknown as to how much U.S. hardware has already ended-up in the hands of ISIS already.
The U.S. Congress, playing the role of enabler, has agreed to fund the training of the rebels as per President Obama’s request.
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky has described the plan to yet again fund extremist groups as “Absurd.”
The U.S. has spent over a $ 1, 000, 000, 000 in Syria and the fight on ISIS while its own infrastructure of dated railways and aging bridges depicts a nation out of step with its contemporaries such asGermany and Japan, both of which offer high-speed rail services.
